Railway Station at Grange-Over-Sands

This is the lovely railway station platform at Grange-Over-Sands in the Lake District.

The photo was taken at approximately 3pm on the 21st September 2019. I recently developed this file again with Luminar AI, and I am quite pleased with the results.

Originally, I had developed the photo file (shown below) with On1 Photo RAW, and at the time of first publishing this image (on another website), I hadn’t noticed that the lens distortion had made the roof of the building on the left look as though it was sloping into the frame. Also, I was still assimilating On1 Photo RAW, and looking back now, the image has far too much crunchy local contrast enhancement.

As you can see from comparing the two versions, in adjusting the horizontal keystoning to level off the roof on the left, I have lost the chimney and other content from the top right. I do think this crop has strengthened the composition though by introducing an unbroken diagonal lead-in line along the roofline of the building on the right.
